VIPER fans already know that every Tuesday is VIPER Tuesdays !
And this week marks the premiere of VIPER Tuesdays season 4 with a rarity, a true gift for all VIPER fans: Back In Black Jack !
In 1990, shortly after the release of the album Theatre of Fate , VIPER performed at one of the most traditional venues of the time in São Paulo: Black Jack, in the Santo Amaro neighborhood.
VIPER felt at home there, as the band frequented the bar, always surrounded by friends. The performance is one of the rare shows recorded in its entirety on Fate on Tour with VIPER's classic lineup, since vocalist Andre Matos and drummer Guilherme Martin would leave the band a few months later.
Black Jack has always been part of the band's history. Shortly after that show, guitarists Felipe Machado and Yves Passarell , on the recommendation of drummer Paulo Zinner from Golpe de Estado , went to Black Jack to see the show of the band Pathé Sophismático , whose then drummer was Renato Graccia . Felipe and Yves liked the sound and invited Renato to join VIPER.
The band also returned to Black Jack to perform Auf Wiedersehen, Brazil , their last show before heading to Europe to record the album Evolution .
Many of VIPER's friendships date back to that time, including with members of bands like Korzus , Sepultura , Exhort , Skyscraper , among others, as can be seen in the numerous jam sessions that always complemented the band's performance at Black Jack.
This recording is a rare opportunity to see VIPER with its classic lineup, playing a newly released repertoire, in a relaxed atmosphere, among friends in an intimate performance.
As a bonus, the video also shows two Wikimetal , Daniel Dystyler and Rafael Masini, in their roles as roadies on either side of the stage. The Roadies of Sunrise .
