Saxon 's new album is officially finished. As announced in July , the album – still untitled – is scheduled for release on February 4, 2022.
Recently, the band participated in the Bloodstock Open Air , and vocalist Biff Byford revealed in an interview not only that the album was ready, but also that fans can expect the music video for the title track in October.
“The Saxon album is finished,” said Byford. “ Andy Sneap finished mixing it a few weeks ago and I approved it, so it’s ready. While we were rehearsing for the festival, we recorded a video for the title track. It should be released in October, on the day of the pre-order.” The pre-order for the new album should take place on October 29th.
Regarding the musical direction of the project, Byford said: “It’s heavy and melodic, which is typical of Saxon. I think people will like it. I like it. I didn’t like some of the albums we did, actually, but this one is great. The last 10 albums were great, but I like this one. I was listening to it again the other day for the video shoot. It’s a good album.” Watch the full interview:
