Watch the original Stars from 1985.
Wendy Dio, widow and manager of the unforgettable Ronnie James Dio, confirmed that the "Hear 'N Aid" project will be relaunched, this time to generate revenue for the "Stand Up And Shout" foundation, which helps in the fight against cancer.
Wendy mentioned the project in an interview on journalist Eddie Trunk's radio show.
“We have so much unreleased material, behind-the-scenes footage, photos of everyone involved that I think it will be fantastic. We just have to work on this material. Maybe there won't be time to release it this year because I want it to be perfect, as Ronnie would have wanted it to be, but we are already negotiating with record labels.”.
Wendy also revealed that a new song in the style of "Hear 'N Aid" will be recorded with artists from various generations.
On May 20th and 21st, 1985, the leading Heavy Metal artists of the time gathered at A&M Records studios in Hollywood, California to record the song " Stars," the proceeds of which were used to combat famine in Africa.
