Avenged Sevenfold fans have been eagerly awaiting the release of a new album from the band since The Stage , but apparently, they'll have to wait a little longer.
In a recent appearance on the Tuna On Toast With Stryker , vocalist M. Shadows revealed that, despite the songs being ready, AX7 is facing delays in the final stages of recording due to the pandemic, and the band also wants to make sure everyone is "mentally" prepared to go on tour when the album is released.
“The songs are ready. I still need to record some vocals and some instruments, and in Los Angeles they're not letting people be less than two meters apart,” said Shadows. “I'm not going to name the bands, but our producer worked on some albums and he says that when you put people two meters apart and put a microphone in each of them, the sound isn't that of a group playing together. They can't hear the notes properly.”
M. Shadows also said that his producer suggested the band travel to Prague to record the remaining parts, or wait where they are, which was the option chosen. “We just want to make sure that, mentally, everyone wants to go on tour to promote the album, that it makes sense,” the vocalist added. “We’ll release it when we want to. That’s the truth. People seem to think we work for them.”
