Reg Tau a collector of records and CDs, but he doesn't believe that old and already established bands have reason to continue releasing new projects.

Guest number 72 on The Wikimetal Happy Hour segment , the producer spoke about the topic while commenting on bands like Iron Maiden and AC/DC . “You go to a show, everyone always wants to hear the same crap. When Metallica opened up the possibility for fans to choose the songs, guess what the guys chose? The same ones,” he commented. “The audience is the main culprit in this, they always want to hear the same things, year after year.”

The critic's line of thinking also finds support among some musicians. Paul Stanley , vocalist of Kiss , also sees no reason to release new material at this point in his career. "When you see any classic band on TV or in a concert video, turn off the sound and I'll tell you every time they're playing a new song because the audience sits down," he argued in an interview.

Setting aside the artistic side for a moment, Regis offers a realistic analysis of the entertainment market. “In the past, you went on tour to promote a new album. Pre-pandemic, you make a new album to justify a tour,” he pointed out. “You can see, every band, when they make a new album, they play one or two songs from the new one, and the rest is the same old truckload of music.”
