X Japan's last album was released 22 years ago
Yoshiki Hayashi , leader of X Japan , told Consequence Of Sound that the band's first album in 22 years will feature a guest appearance by Marilyn Manson .
The album, still untitled, is the first since Dahlia , released in 1996, and was recorded in Yoshiki's home studio and has apparently been in the works for almost 10 years. "I know it's a long time, but when you hear the sound, you understand why it took so long," said Yoshiki. "Ninety-nine percent of the songs are in English and it's our first album aimed at a global audience."
Manson made an appearance at X Japan's Coachella concert to sing Eurythmics which Marilyn Manson covered in 1995 on the album Smells Like Children.
X Japan's new album is expected to be released in the second half of the year.
