Nervosa became the first all-female heavy metal band to perform in China.
The performance took place at Mao Livehouse in Guangzhou on April 10th, followed by a Chinese tour in Chengdu and Beijing, as well as a performance at the Heliu Music Festival in Xuzhou. The band is currently on tour celebrating their 15th anniversary and will be traveling throughout Asia and the Pacific.
Vocalist and guitarist Prika Amaral commented: “Playing in China was indescribable, an unforgettable experience, especially since we were the first all-female metal band to play there! Being part of something historic for women and for metal is something I will carry in my heart forever.”
“The people there are very kind, everything is very organized, they have an excellent infrastructure, which was a great surprise for us. We played 4 shows, the last one at a big festival, for thousands of people who were constantly moshing and headbanging like crazy. We are very grateful to have the privilege of being there representing Brazilian metal and women. We are already working to go back there soon.”
