The band's vocalist commented on the lineup, revisiting a childhood dream.

The Brazilian band Nervosa has been confirmed for the 2020 edition of the legendary Wacken festival. The event will also feature Mercyful Fate , Amon Amarth, and Judas Priest , who will be celebrating their 50th anniversary.

Wacken 2020 will take place between July 30th and August 1st. Fernanda Lira (bass and vocals), Prika Amaral (guitar) and Luana Dametto (drums) are promoting their 2018 album Downfall of Mankind and will perform at Rock in Rio on October 4th of this year alongside Iron Maiden, Slayer and Sepultura.

Shortly after the lineup announcement, Fernanda shared on her social media her happiness at being part of the event, which, according to her, had been a childhood dream. “The biggest dream of my life so far is coming true. I think I've reached the peak of my expectations, and the mix of emotions is so intense that I'm only now able to process it. Yesterday I was a little shocked to see that announcement come true, all golden there, beautiful, next to Mercyful Fate and all, so special that I was simply stunned and couldn't react properly.”

“All my friends come from a difficult, humble, marginalized background, so Wacken was like something unattainable, a totally unreachable metal oasis, since many times we would go through the bus turnstile together because one or the other didn't have money to go to the event, we would ask for money in concert lines (a thousand times) or we would sneak into the show because there was no way to get in.” She recounted that when she finally managed to make the trip at 18, the highlight was seeing Iron Maiden perform from the front row.

"It's very surreal, it means so much more than you can imagine. I'm fulfilling my dream and my friends' dream. We worked so hard, overcame so many things, won battles that many people can't even imagine, but me and the girls DID IT."
