Behemoth vocalist Nergal spoke about collaborating with Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor on his side project, Me And That Man , which recently released an album titled New Man, New Songs, Same Shit, Vol. 1 .
“With Corey Taylor, just the fact that he’s participating in this project is incredible to me. He’s such a busy guy, but he really made time for himself and contributed in some really cool ways – working with him made my career, to be honest,” Nergal revealed about Taylor, who is featured on the album’s tenth track.
The musician continues, expressing his enthusiasm for the new album from his dark folk : “To be completely frank, working on this record made me feel like a teenager again, opening Christmas presents from all these artists I respect so much.” The album features, in addition to Corey, Brent Hinds ( Mastodon ) and Matt Heafy ( Trivium ), as Nergal previously mentioned in the project announcement.
“And I’m not kidding. New Man, New Songs, Same Shit, Vol. 1 has been a great artistic adventure and challenge for me, and I feel like I succeeded. Doing this has left me feeling very satisfied,” the artist said. Surely a musician's enthusiasm about his work encourages us a lot to listen to him, right?
