Nelson Brito and Coup d'état
Besides being the bassist for Golpe de Estado, Nelson also founded the band and assembled the classic lineup that included the late guitarist Hélcio Aguirra , vocalist Catalau , and drummer Paulo Zinner. Together, in the second half of the 1980s, they presented a hard rock sound with political and intelligent lyrics.
The band released the albums Golpe de Estado (1986) and Forçando a Barra (1988), Nem Polícia Nem Bandido (1989), Quarto Golpe (1991) and Zumbi (1994). In 1996, they released their first live album, Dez Anos Ao Vivo , which includes two previously unreleased studio tracks recorded with vocalist Rogério Fernandes , who replaced Catalau.
In 2004, Kiko Muller joined the band as vocalist and with them released Pra Poder . Eight years later, the group released Direto do Fronte with vocalist Dino Linardi and drummer Roby Pontes , who replaced Zinner.
In 2014, Hélcio Aguirra passed away, and the group continued their work two years later with Zinner, Catalau, and Brito. The band's most recent album is Caosmópolis (2022).
