Neil Young paid tribute to his ex-wife, collaborator, and co-founder of the Bridge School, Pegi Young .
“Thank you Pegi, for being a wonderful mother to our children,” Neil wrote in his first comment since her death. “You live on in them and in so many others you touched.”
Pegi Young died at age 66 after a year-long battle with cancer. "She was surrounded by friends and family" at the time of her death, according to the singer's Instagram account.
On Saturday, Neil also posted the lyrics to "Such a Woman," a song from the album Harvest Moon , inspired by Pegi.
"You are such a wonderful woman to me/ and I love you/ our love will live on/ until the end of time," Young wrote.
