Neil Peart Rush drummer who died last year, was honored in a rather rock 'n' roll : with his name given to a beer.
The drink, produced by Carton Brewing , was named with a pun on the musician's last name and references the Rush song "Limelight," thus possessing a slightly acidic, yet mild, lemon flavor in its composition.
One of the owners of the brewery responsible, Augie Carton , states that this new product is very special to their history. Carton was a big fan of Rush, deeply identifying with the lyrics of the Canadian band.
Furthermore, the artwork on the beer references the meet and greet Carton had with the band, as well as a drawing of Peart on drums wearing his iconic cap. The price of the crate also references the legendary rock band: R$ 21.12, referring to their 1976 album, 2112.
Furthermore, all profits from the sale of Pronounced Pier-t books go directly to research on glioblastoma, a rare brain cancer that took Peart away from the stage.
