Napalm Death vocalist predicts the world will need to adapt to a plant-based diet.

"Intensive agriculture is not sustainable, this cannot continue," said the vocalist.

Mark “Barney” Greenway , vocalist of Napalm Death , spoke about his plant-based diet during an interview with EMP UK (via Blabbermouth ) at Bloodstock Open Air . He even made predictions about a future where the world will need to adapt to this diet.

He revealed that he has been vegetarian since he was 14 years old and that he became vegan 10 years ago, meaning he consumes nothing of animal origin. “I do this mainly from a human perspective, but also for health reasons. The human aspect is always my starting point, but I think the health aspect is also very important to me. So I incorporate this with physical exercise and other things,” he commented.

Barney pointed out that more and more people are adopting a vegan or vegetarian diet, replacing meat with plant-based options as a way to commit to a healthier, more humane, and sustainable way of eating.

“Everyone finds their own way,” he said, adding: “The most interesting thing is that I think people now have a greater understanding of preserving the environment… Intensive agriculture is not sustainable, it cannot continue. So, I believe the whole planet will have to adapt to a more plant-based diet,” the musician predicted.

Blabbermouth , in transcribing the interview, highlighted a Vox study - based foods in 2020 grew much faster (27%) than the total US retail food market (15%).
