Young drummer Nandi Bushell shared short clips last week of herself playing alongside Shane Hawkins , the 16-year-old son of the late Taylor Hawkins . The two recorded the video backstage at the tribute to the musician at Wembley Stadium in London.
In the now-deleted video, the young men could be seen playing the classics " Everlong " by Foo Fighters and " Smells Like Teen Spirit " by Nirvana . Most interestingly, both songs feature Dave Grohl , Taylor's bandmate in Foo Fighters, on the studio versions. Besides rocking out on the drums, the duo also showcased their skills on bass and guitar.
In the caption, the drummer had nothing but praise for Hawkins' son: “Playing with Shane backstage at Wembley is one of my favorite moments. Shane is one of the nicest, friendliest, and most talented people I’ve ever met. It’s so much fun to be around him and his energy.”
However, this is just one of the countless videos that Bushell has posted and that have taken the internet by storm by playing covers of metal and alternative rock songs. Inspired by the Beatles , he started playing drums at the age of five. By 12, he had already performed alongside major artists and participated in numerous television programs.
Nandi's most recent releases include a video teaching "Killing in the Name" to her younger brother and a surprising cover of Eminem .
