Nancy Wilson releases official video for her cover of Pearl Jam's "Daughter"

The song is part of the soundtrack for the South African film 'I Am All Girls'

On Tuesday, the 18th, Nancy Wilson released the official music video for the song "Daughter," a cover of the Pearl Jam that the singer recorded as part of the South African Netflix , I Am All Girls .

The video shows Nancy singing and is interspersed with images from the film, which follows a heavy theme about human trafficking, especially of young girls, for forced sex work.

Regarding the song, Nancy said (via Blabbermouth ): “I initially recorded 'Daughter' for the film, a powerful story about sex trafficking in South Africa. I was drawn to the global tragedy of human trafficking, and the lyrics, sung from a woman's perspective, also mirror the power of these girls' untold stories. The film is a revelation and exposes these realities. Trafficking is a global phenomenon that impacts the lives of women around the world. I recorded this version as an anthem for them.”

Nancy's cover of "Daughter" ended up being included on her first solo album, You and Me , released in early May. The debut album features mostly original songs, but also includes some covers of Bruce Springsteen , The Cranberries , and Simon & Garfunkel .
