Myles Kennedy , frontman of Alter Bridge , is using the quarantine to work on his second solo album.
In an interview with Kylie Olsson , the vocalist said that in addition to spending a lot of time with his family during quarantine, he is working on new material. Year of the Tiger , Kennedy's first solo album, which also features Slash in his solo career, was released in March 2018.
Speaking about the new album, Kennedy said it will be heavier than the previous one: “ Year of the Tiger had a lot of acoustic stuff and definitely had a blues vibe. That all continues in the sense that this is my opportunity to venture into the realm of blues, mainly as a guitarist. But, having said that, it's louder [laughs]. It's much more rock and I'm very excited.”
Year of the Tiger is a concept album in which Kennedy tells the story of his family after the death of his father when he was young. For the new album, he said he doesn't want to do the same, but he confesses that the lyrics will reflect a lot of what he's been feeling during quarantine. Listen to the full interview below.
