Myles Kennedy , frontman of Alter Bridge , released a breathtaking acoustic cover of the Iron Maiden SiriusXM radio .
In an interview with the station, the artist, whose second solo album is practically finished , shares that the track became a fan favorite cover on the Year of the Tiger , and recounts how the song became part of his setlist. “I was lying in my bed on the tour bus one night, and I thought, I need something in a certain time and that has a certain atmosphere, but I want it to be a song that’s kind of from my growing years as a young, rebellious teenager.”
“And I was thinking about many of the bands I was listening to at the time, and that it would be interesting to take one of those songs and change the arrangement to fit the context of what I really wanted to do with my solo project, which is closer to a more American atmosphere, among other things,” says the artist, who then thought of the Maiden classic, but with touches of Johnny Cash , and the result of this combination in an acoustic version can be heard below.
