In an interview with The Columbus Dispatch, Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine spoke about the accolades the band has received throughout their career, commenting on the Grammy they won last year and discussing their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Although he was not inducted into the Hall of Fame, Mustaine considers himself a member of the institution because he was part of Metallica, which was inducted in 2009

“I’m basically there because of Metallica; that was just a trick by those guys. But it would be cool to be there on my own. I’m sure that at some point it will happen. You can’t create a new musical style and not be recognized for it.”.

Regarding the Grammy that Megadeth received this year in the Best Metal Performance category for the title track of their latest album, Dystopia , Mustaine said that the award could have been all his:

"As crazy as I sound, I was thinking about the Grammys the other day and how the award went to Megadeth. I think it would have been better if it had gone to Dave Mustaine instead of Megadeth. I guess the best thing to do is keep the flame alive."
