Mustaine says he's intimidated by Kiko Loureiro's talent

Megadeth's new album has no release date yet

In an interview with Revolver magazine, Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine shared updates on the recording process for the band's next album. Currently in the studio with Chris Adler of Lamb Of God and Kiko Loureiro of Angra, Megadeth hopes to release their new album soon.

Regarding Loureiro, Mustaine said he was very happy with the choice: “Finding him was simply breathtaking. This is the first time since Marty Friedman that I’ve felt truly intimidated as a guitarist. He’s an incredible talent, and always comes up with great ideas.”

According to Mustaine, Megadeth already has 15 songs recorded, including titles such as Tyrannicide , The New Emperor , Poisonous Shadows , and Conquer… or Die . The guitarist reveals, however, that he is experiencing writer's block: “I have lyrics for nine of the songs, but the instrumental is so good that sometimes I write something down and think, 'No, this isn't good enough for this instrumental .

Megadeth's new album does not yet have a release date or title.
