In an interview with Ultimate Guitar, Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine was asked which vocalist he would like to have in the band if he only played guitar. Here's his answer:
“I remember when I was in Metallica we talked a lot about John Bush. I think his vocals were very good for Armored Saint, but I don't think that, in the end, it would be what I would want.”
There's Sean Harris too, the former lead singer of Diamond Head – we were in love with his voice. Nobody sang better. But with that kind of genius, sometimes madness comes along. I think when Diamond Head broke up everyone pointed the finger at Sean.
Often, many frontmen – unless they have a really good head on their shoulders – can be complete idiots. I remember when we were doing auditions, it was really bad dealing with some of the personalities that came in.
