Curran Murphy: "I am so sad"

Michael Amott: “Rest in peace, Warrel Dane. I’m remembering so many moments we had together… It’s very strange to think that you’ll never send me a funny text again. You had a unique talent, you were intelligent but you were a troubled man who left a mark on the history of Heavy Metal. You will be greatly missed, my friend.”

Mike Portnoy: “I’m very sad after hearing about two deaths in the music world today: Warrel Dane of Nevermore/Sanctuary and Pat DiNizio of Smithereens. Remember: our music may be timeless and live forever, but we won’t… #CarpeDiem”

Steve Di Giorgio: “Rest in peace. A very talented, eloquent man, a sentimental vocalist, a friend and king of Metal, Warrel Dane. He not only died on the same day as his friend Chuck Shuldiner but also in the middle of recording his album.”

Gus G.: “I met Warrel Dane two years ago in Greece at a festival. We hung out for a few hours over dinner. From the short time I spent with him, he seemed like a kind but troubled soul. He was one of the greatest metal vocalists of our generation. Rest in peace, my friend. God bless.”

Overkill: “Warrel Dane, Rest in peace, brother! My condolences to your family and friends.”

Century Media Europe: “Century Media Europe regrets the death of Warrel Dane (Sanctuary, Nevermore, Warrel Dane). Out of respect for his family, bandmates and friends, an official statement will be released soon.”
