Guitarist dies at age 68
Following the death of Alvin Lee, guitarist for Ten Years After, last night, a number of musicians have spoken out about their grief over the loss.
Geezer Butler said that Lee was a huge influence on Black Sabbath. "One of the few people who believed in Sabbath when we started." Bill Ward sent a message of thanks to the musician for everything he was.
Slash commented that he remembers listening to the guitarist when he was younger. Glenn Hughes said, "I'm sad to see another friend go.".
Joe Satriani said, “Alvin Lee was a huge influence on my playing. He was a great musician and a gentleman. I still have the pick he gave me a few years ago.”
Alvin Lee passed away at the age of 68 following complications from a simple surgery.
