The former bassist of Charlie Brown Jr., Champignon, was found dead in his apartment in the West Zone of São Paulo this morning.
According to initial reports, police were called by neighbors who heard a gunshot coming from Champignon's apartment. The musician was found with a gunshot wound to the mouth and a pistol in his hand. Champignon's wife, five months pregnant, was taken to the hospital in a state of shock.
According to a witness, the couple had just arrived home from dinner with friends.
Luiz Carlos Leão Duarte Junior was 35 years old. The case occurs six months after the death of Chorão, lead singer of Charlie Brown Jr., from an overdose.
