“Thought Contagion” was released along with a video starring vampires
On Thursday, February 15th, Muse released their newest single, “Thought Contagion,” accompanied by an eccentric music video. During an interview on the British radio program Annie Mac's BBC Radio 1 Show, the band said that the track was inspired by Richard Dawkins and the concept of memes.
The group also stated that the visual recording directed by Lance Drake is a continuation of the story told in the music video for "Dig Down," a single released by the band in May 2017. Watch the video for "Thought Contagion," starring vampires, below.
Muse released their most recent album, a concept album about modern warfare, Drones , in 2015. In 2016, during the tour promoting the LP, the group led by Matt Bellamy used real drones during their performances, until they had problems when one fell into the audience. Looking ahead to future tours, the group stated that they would like to incorporate magnets and levitation into their live performances. Muse is clearly looking to the future.
