Muse announced the new album last Thursday with the surprise release of the single "Compliance".

Musically, the new track doesn't have the same weight as "Won't Stand Down," but it doesn't disappoint in its critical lyrics, with a current political analysis, and an impressive music video, in which an entire society lives under the masks of the band, which represents an authoritarian government in the album's conceptual universe, under the promise of no more suffering.

successor to Simulation Theory (2018), is called Will of the People and will be released on August 26th. The album will have 10 songs and pre-orders are already available .

According to Muse, the new project was “influenced by the growing uncertainty and instability in the world,” creating a personal narrative from the band about what it’s like to navigate a world facing “a pandemic, new wars in Europe, massive protests and uprisings, an attempted insurrection, Western democracy faltering, rising authoritarianism, wildfires, natural disasters, and the destabilization of the global order.”

As predicted by fans after the release of a mysterious teaser , the project's cover shows giant statues of the band members toppled in a dystopian setting. See below.
