Muse plays a snippet of Slipknot's “Duality” in a medley of “Won't Stand Down”

The band performed at the Isle of Wight festival on Sunday night.

Muse was the big headliner on Sunday night, the 19th, at the Isle Of Wight festival and delivered some surprises during their set.

In addition to playing classic hits like “Supermassive Black Hole” and “Time Is Running Out,” the band performed singles from their new album, Will Of The People , to be released in August, and also paid homage to Guns N' Roses and Slipknot .

According to Loudersound , vocalist Matt Bellamy ended the performance of "Plug In Baby" with another track containing the riff from "Sweet Child O' Mine," and later included a short jam session of Slipknot's "Duality" during the performance of the single "Won't Stand Down ." Check out the videos below.

According to Muse , the new album, Will Of The People , was “influenced by the growing uncertainty and instability in the world,” creating a personal narrative from the band about what it’s like to navigate a world facing “a pandemic, new wars in Europe, massive protests and uprisings, an attempted insurrection, Western democracy faltering, rising authoritarianism, wildfires, natural disasters, and the destabilization of the global order.”

The most recent single is the album's title track , which presents a "fictional" narrative about a character who rebels against a capitalist system and an authoritarian government.
