James Hetfield spoke in an interview
In an interview with SiriusXM radio, Metallica vocalist James Hetfield spoke about the songs on the upcoming album, "Hardwired... To Self Destruct," commenting that the track " Murder One" is a tribute to Lemmy Kilmister and uses Motörhead song titles in its lyrics.
The title Murder One is a tribute to Lemmy's favorite amplifier, which was affectionately named after him. In the interview, James spoke about Lemmy's influence on the band:
“Motörhead has a lot to do with the fact that we're sitting here today. But Lemmy as an entity, as a kind of father figure, helped us a lot. He was fearless. And he was a character. He was himself. We all respected that a lot. He did things his way, until his last breath. No matter who you are, how could you not be inspired by that?”
