A quality, heavy muqueta in our ear
Daniel Dystyler: Starting another National Pride segment, and the band was chosen by Rafael Masini.
Rafael Masini: I chose the band Muqueta na Oreia, recommended by Pedro. The band is really cool, I even wrote back to him saying I really liked them. The song "Muqueta News" has a music video on YouTube. But both the quality of the music recording and the music video makes you think, "Wow, we really have to believe in Brazilian metal." They invested in it; the music video and the music recording are of great quality. They have something cool; Muqueta na Oreia takes a few hints of metal with a lot of horror movie influences and that's what comes out. And their influences include Sepultura, Korn, Os Titãs, Raimundos. In other words, a lot of Brazilian bands. And of course, Metallica, Lamb of God…
DD: And they sing in Portuguese, right?
RM: They sing in Portuguese. Their work is called Werewolf on a Full Moon Night. They are from Embu das Artes, founded in 2007. Wow, very cool, I didn't know this band and I recommend them. I recommend watching their videos on YouTube.
Nando Machado: Even the vocalist's voice reminded me a bit of João Gordo from Ratos do Porão, who always had a very strong presence. When he sang in Portuguese, he had some really cool lyrics.
DD: That's it. Go for it, Muqueta na Oreia!
RM: Yeah, that's the band and the song is Muqueta News. On Wikimetal.
That was Muqueta News. Did you like it?
NM: That's really cool.
DD: Damn, that's awesome. A real punch in the face, huh?
RM: Very heavy sound, very cool. I recommend everyone watch the music video.
