Mudvayne , ” this Thursday, the 11th. This is their second new work, along with the release of “Hurt People Hurt People” last week, marking the band's return after 16 years.

In a press release, vocalist Chad Gray commented: “I’ve always been told ‘sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.’ Well, that’s a great lullaby, but I totally disagree. I’ve carried many words throughout my life as if they were spoken to me.”

He continued: “The reality is that they hurt. I tried my best to get rid of them, but when they come from dear friends, family—people who should love you—words have teeth and they don’t go away. Blood doesn’t wash away; it stains. I think I’m just trying to remind people to love their children. Don’t use them as a bullet to shoot at your ex or whoever you’re with now. They are innocent and impressionable. And believe me, as a child, this was used as a weapon, your words will hurt them… long after you say them.”

The tracks mark Mudvayne's first release on Alchemy Recordings , a label created in partnership between Dino Paredes , former Vice President of A&R at American Recordings , and Danny Wimmer , founder of Danny Wimmer Presents , a leading rock festival producer in the United States. Other artists on Alchemy include Staind, Chevelle , and the solo career of Serj Tankian .

Formed in 1996, Mudvayne has sold over six million records worldwide, but they hadn't released anything new since their last self-titled album in 2009.
