Mudvayne "Hurt People Hurt People" this Thursday, the 28th , their first single in 16 years.
The track marks Mudvayne's first release on Alchemy Recordings , a label created in partnership between Dino Paredes , former Vice President of A&R at American Recordings , and Danny Wimmer , founder of Danny Wimmer Presents , a leading rock festival producer in the United States. Other artists on Alchemy include Staind, Chevelle , and the solo career of Serj Tankian .
In a press release, vocalist Chad Gray commented: “I think I wrote this song as a reminder to myself to break the cycle. We create our own suffering, our own pain. It’s time to create self-love and let go of the pain. It was never ours to begin with.”
Formed in 1996, Mudvayne has sold over six million records worldwide, but they hadn't released anything new since their last self-titled album in 2009.
