Rush's 'Moving Pictures' is considered the band's best album

The podium also features '2112', from 1976, and this year's anniversary album, 'Permanent Waves'

October has arrived, and for us, that just means yay! Halloween is near, but on the other hand, we're sad because Rush is over. And to close this celebratory period with a bang, and take every opportunity we have to honor the legendary Neil Peart , we ask: what is the best album by our favorite Canadians? (Hey Gastão and Nando , here's a suggestion for an episode of The Favorite ).

The result may shock some people, considering that Permanent Waves , considered by many to be the band's defining album and the best released in 1980 , which turned 40 in 2020, did not intimidate fans and took third place on our podium, with 9% of the votes.

In second place, with 18% of the votes, comes the band's magical fourth studio album, 2112 , from 1976, which has already made its mark in history by securing high positions on lists of definitive albums of prog rock, and even the entire history of music. That's quite something, isn't it?

Moving Pictures , from 1981, wins the crown in the arduous challenge of choosing the best album from the legendary band, earning an impressive 33% of the votes. Rush's eighth album features classics like "Limelight," "Tom Sawyer," and "Vital Signs," and had its instrumental version of "YYZ" nominated for Best Rock Instrumental Performance at the Grammys… nothing too surprising, right? A more than justified number one in our poll.
