Musician suffered from Alzheimer's disease
Mott The Hoople's founding drummer, Dale Griffin, passed away last Sunday night at the age of 67 after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. The news was posted on the Angel Air Records page
"One of the nicest, friendliest, and most talented men I've ever met. All he wanted was for his beloved Mott The Hoople to reunite, and it was his determination that made it happen in 2009, when he was too ill to participate, but he did play an encore."
Griffin was one of the founders of Mott The Hoople in 1969, a band best known for the hit "All The Young Dudes ," written by David Bowie for the band. Mott The Hoople released eight albums in their career.
