Motörhead's collaboration with Girlschool, 'St. Valentine's Day', will be re-released on special vinyl.

The three-track EP is coming in a new version for Record Store Day in June

For Record Store Day 2021, Motörhead will release a special version of the EP St. Valentine's Day Massacre , made in collaboration with Girlschool . The record will be available in a photo vinyl edition released by Sanctuary Records and will be on sale on June 12th, which coincides with Valentine's Day in Brazil.

The two bands merged to form Headgirl . The EP contains three cover tracks, including a duet of Johnny Kidd & The Pirates and a cover from each band, with Motörhead playing Girlschool's "Emergency," and Girlschool doing their own version of "Bomber." St. Valentine's Day Massacre celebrates its 40th anniversary of release in 2021. Ironically, the relationship between some members of Motörhead and Girlschool extended into the romantic realm beyond their musical partnership, with Lemmy dating guitarist Kelly Johnson , while vocalist Kim McAuliffe was involved with Eddie Clarke.

In an interview with The Guardian , bassist Enid Williams reportedly commented on the relationship between the two bands , stating that while she feels very proud of Girlschool's association with Motörhead, she believes it "held them back." "Maybe we wouldn't have reached Top of the Pops at that time [without the link between the two bands], but I think we would have maintained our success for longer," Williams said.
