The band was playing at Wacken Open Air
Motörhead 's performance at Wacken Open Air today had to be cut short due to Lemmy's health problems.
After only six songs had been played, 45 minutes less than the scheduled show time, the band announced the end of the performance. Motörhead had to take long breaks between songs, probably so that Lemmy could recover his strength.
The host of the show “Metal On Metal”, Bill Peters, who was present at the concert, commented on what happened: “Phil Campbell played a long solo before “The Chase Is Better Than The Catch” while Lemmy was leaving the stage. The solo ended but Lemmy didn't return to the stage. Lemmy came back to play one more song, and left right after it was over.”
According to Peters' account, the organizer of Wacken Open Air went on stage and said he didn't know what to do.
Motorhead cancelled their European tour in early July due to health problems suffered by their bassist, who includes bruising and a hip issue.
