Scott Ian founded the band
Scott Ian ( Anthrax ), his wife Pearl Aday, John Tempesta (The Cult, ex-Exodus, ex-Testament), Joey Vera (Fates Warning and Armored Saint), and Jim Wilson (Mother Superior) joined forces to play Mother Superior songs for Scott Ian's birthday, as a gift for himself. The group formed the band Motor Sister and recorded an album, "Ride," expected on March 10th.
Ian spoke about the band: “Mother Superior is a great band that has been missing for 7 years. I celebrated my 50th birthday in December 2013 and as a gift to myself I chose my favorite songs of theirs and we played them together .” Ian recounts that the next day he received a call from the record label saying that an album by the band would be released, if the guitarist wanted it.
“We made the album in two days and it’s amazing!”, said Ian. The band’s first live performance will be on February 12th, at a show in New York.
