After signing (and breaking) a retirement contract a few years ago, Mötley Crüe is back with full energy, as their recent show in São Paulo clearly demonstrated . And, if it's up to Nikki Sixx , the plan is to keep going until the band's 50th anniversary in 2031.

The bassist spoke about the band's next steps in an interview with Radio Rock 89 FM . “We just finished those four songs for The Dirt . We're pretty isolated at the moment. But we're having these conversations beyond 2023, like what 2024 would look like in terms of touring for us? Regarding new music, I think that always comes about when the band is getting along. And we're getting along really well now, we're having a lot of fun. We spend time together, we go out to dinner,” he said.

Tommy Lee 's 60th birthday in Mexico, which brought together all the band members with friends and family. “It was good not to talk about business (…), just being together, walking on the beach. And we had great conversations. Tommy, Vince [Neil] I talked about it, and I asked, ‘What are you guys going to do for the next eight years?’ And everyone was laughing, saying, ‘I don’t know,’” he narrated. “And I said, ‘Why not go for it? Let’s go until the band’s 50th anniversary.’”

Although he didn't reveal the definitive answer from his bandmates, if there was one, Nikki Sixx spoke with certainty about continuing on the road. “This isn't a farewell tour. What is it, then? I have no idea. I'm just telling you that the band says, 'We're having so much fun, why stop?'” he concluded.
