With "Girls, Girls, Girls" among the biggest hits of Mötley Crüe , bassist Nikki Sixx admits the possibility that the band – which sings "I just need a new toy / Dance for me, I'll keep you super busy" in the 1987 hit – was sexist .

In a recent interview with Classic Rock , the musician reflected on the band's lyrics and music videos in light of the growing debate about sexism in society. "In today's reality, it was very likely [sexist]," he confessed. "Just like everyone else was. In the 1970s, when I was young, that was the message we received, and we were imitating our heroes."

According to Sixx, listening to bands like Aerosmith openly talking about sex, drugs, and guns gave him an adrenaline rush. “I thought, ‘Wow, this is wild! This is very dangerous, this isn’t music for mom and dad.’ It was a different time. You can’t rewrite history!” he continued.
