Mötley Crüe released this Friday, the 20th, the new version of “Home Sweet Home” featuring Dolly Parton .
The new track is part of Mötley Crüe's upcoming compilation album, From The Beginning , which will be released on September 12th on CD and vinyl by BMG .
The music video mixes current scenes of Dolly Parton in the studio with old clips of the band and information about homeless youth.
In a press release, the band commented: “'Home Sweet Home' was first released in 1985 as a single from our album Theatre Of Pain . For an icon like Dolly Parton to sing on a song that has meant so much not only to us, but to all the fans over the years, is a career high point that means a lot to us. We couldn't be happier to celebrate the 40th anniversary of 'Home Sweet Home' in this special way, and we are excited to share this version of the song.”
“The fact that we were able to team up with Dolly to raise awareness about the importance of homeless youth, and the incredible work of Covenant House , which provides them with safe housing and care, makes it all the more special. We hope you enjoy 'Home Sweet Home' with Dolly Parton as much as Dolly and we enjoyed creating it.”
Also in a press release, Dolly Parton commented:
"It was an honor and a joy to work in the studio on the 40th anniversary re-release of the single 'Home Sweet Home'. I was very happy to be invited to sing on such a classic."
Part of the proceeds from the single will go to Covenant House , an organization very dear to the band members. The organization provides safe shelter, meals, hope, and much more to help homeless youth.
