Morrissey has cancelled his performance in Madrid, which was scheduled for this Thursday, the 12th, at the Noches del Botánico festival, due to health problems.

The former lead singer of The Smiths cancelled his performance 24 hours before the show was due to begin, citing a sinus infection.

The festival's production company released a statement last Wednesday, the 11th, signed by the artist [via Far Out Magazine ]:

“Morrissey is undergoing medical treatment for an acute case of sinusitis. As a result, and with great regret, tomorrow's engagement in Madrid is cancelled. He apologizes for any inconvenience this cancellation may cause and thanks the public for their understanding.”.

Currently, Morrissey began his European tour on May 31st in Dublin and, since then, has played two shows at the O2 Academy in Glasgow and returned to Manchester on June 7th to play at Co-op Live for the first time in his career.

The artist continues the tour on June 15th in Paris, followed by Antwerp, Cologne, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Stockholm, Berlin, Leipzig, Munich, Krakow, Vienna, Belgrade, Bucharest, Istanbul, Athens and Šibenek, before concluding with four shows in Italy.

Morrissey in Brazil

Morrissey is coming to Brazil for a single show in São Paulo on November 12th, at Espaço Unimed.

Tickets will go on sale to the general public starting this Friday, June 13th, at 10 AM on the Livepass website . The event is a Move Concerts .
