The Rio de Janeiro-based alternative rock group Montanee has released “Never Good Enough,” the latest single in anticipation of their upcoming EP, Recalling Dreams .
Speaking about the new release, vocalist Felipe Areias commented: “'Never Good Enough' was definitely the song that changed the most during the recording of the EP. I remember that in our first meeting with Joel Hamilton [the EP's producer], this was the first song we showed him, still in an acoustic version.”
“From that conversation came the idea of having new lyrics for the part before the guitar solo, and that's where my favorite part of the whole song came from: 'I've got a million reasons why I don't need you.' Joel was very, very good at capturing the essence of the song and suggesting specific changes that elevated the music even further.”
“Never Good Enough” is the third single from the album, following “Gray” and “Brooklyn Sleeps,” the latter featuring Tyler Bryant , leader of the band Tyler Bryant and the Shakedown .
The EP Recalling Dreams will be released on September 27th. In the project, the band cites influences from artists such as Foo Fighters, Arctic Monkeys, Nothing But Thieves, Royal Blood , and features guest appearances from names like Rodrigo Suricato ( Barão Vermelho ), as well as Tyler Bryant.
Montanee is composed of Felipe Areias (vocals and guitar), Teo Kligerman (drums), and Raphael Moraes (bass and guitar).
