The Rio de Janeiro-based alternative rock band Montanee has released "Never Good Enough," a single from their upcoming EP.

Scheduled for release on September 27th, Recalling Dreams was produced in New York by Joel Hamilton , famous for having worked with artists such as The Black Keys and Paul McCartney , and for having 8 Grammy nominations.

“Never Good Enough was definitely the song that changed the most during the recording of the EP. I remember that in our first meeting with Joel Hamilton, this was the first song we showed him, still in an acoustic version,” says vocalist Felipe Areias .

"From that conversation came the idea of having new lyrics for the part before the guitar solo, and that's where my favorite part of the whole song came from: 'I've got a million reasons why I don't need you.' Joel was very, very good at capturing the essence of the song and suggesting specific changes that elevated the music even further."

Formed by Areias (vocals and guitar), Teo Kligerman (drums), and Raphael Moraes (bass and guitar), Montanee has already released two other tracks from this project: "Gray" and "Brooklyn Sleeps".

Regarding the lyrics of the new release, the vocalist explains: "'Never Good Enough' talks about the eternal cycle of human relationships, when you think a person isn't enough for you, but at the same time you aren't enough for the person you wanted by your side."

“Like all our lyrics, I put my personal experiences on paper, but I'm sure a lot of people will identify with it; it's timeless, even after a few years it still makes a lot of sense in my life. It's my favorite song on the EP.”
