Judas Priest is one of the bands that rightfully receives the title of "Monsters of Rock." After all, five decades of service to metal is no small feat.

In their second appearance at Monsters of Rock this Saturday, the co-headliners of this edition promoted Invincible Shield , their nineteenth studio album. With it, the British band received several album of the year awards in 2024.

To everyone's surprise, Priest began their performance 20 minutes ahead of schedule, at 7:10 PM. The group brought an impeccable setup, with their cross at the top of the stage.

In the 17-song setlist, the band delivered a celebration, offering a legendary show and a masterclass in heavy metal. It's impossible to think of metal without mentioning "Breaking The Law," "Living After Midnight," "Painkiller," "Electric Eye," "Turbo Lover," "You've Got Another Thing Coming," and "Rapid Fire."

Their most recent work wasn't left out either, and "Panic Attack" and "Crown Of Horns" serve to show that Rob Halford and Ian Hill still have a long road ahead of them.

At 73 years old, Halford proves he's not the "Metal God" for nothing. His mere presence on stage is worth the price of admission, but the vocalist does much more than that. The imposing presence he exudes when he enters on his Harley Davidson during "Hell Bent For Leather" is immense. Rob still delivers a lot with his voice and his legendary falsettos and vibratos.

Richie Faulkner is another one who delivers. The guitarist, since his arrival in 2011, has breathed new life into the band. Andy Sneap is also extremely competent. Glenn Tipton received a well-deserved tribute in "Victim Of Changes" – a video of the musician appeared on the screen, receiving applause.

As the band left the stage, they received a standing ovation, and the screens displayed the message: "The Priest Will Be Back."

Music cannot exist without Judas Priest. Their performance at the festival served to demonstrate this, and their legacy should always be immortalized in history.
