Monica Possel, vocalist of Hamen , won the international award for best vocalist, beating favorites from Europe and North America. With over 30% of the votes, the singer from Joinville, Santa Catarina, now joins the world's biggest names in the Best Operatic Vocals .

“I dedicate this award to my bandmates for allowing me to work with quality music; to the female underground scene for its strength and unity, which motivated us even more during this pandemic year; and to my fans and Hamen fans for always supporting and motivating us to continue,” Monica says gratefully.

“I believe that this award for the female underground scene will be a reason for us to unite our forces even more. The only Brazilian to be nominated and the only Brazilian in 3 editions to be awarded, this shows the strength of national women and that together we are stronger,” she declares.

Created in 2013, Hamen emerged on the national scene with the EP Altar (2015) and has already released a full album entitled Unreflected Mirror (2018).
