Mother who gave birth at a Metallica concert confesses: "If he becomes a pagode singer, I'll be disappointed."

The birth of baby Luan during a show in Curitiba became international news.

The Metallica concert in Curitiba last Saturday, May 7th, became international news. In interviews with major Brazilian channels over the weekend, the child's mother explained more about the unusual birth and her expectations for the musical tastes of the newest member of the family.

Tattoo artist Joice Figueiró already had a three-year-old daughter with her husband, Jaime , to whom she has been married for 17 years. Both are metalheads, but had never seen their favorite band live.

With Metallica's first time in Curitiba, the couple bought tickets back in 2019. Despite being 39 weeks pregnant, just one week shy of nine months, Joice didn't expect her son to be born at the show.

The pregnant woman stayed in the area reserved for people with disabilities, accompanied by her husband. "The doctor said it was fine and she herself said she would be at the show. I said, 'Okay, that's fine. If anything happens, I'll call you there'," she told Band .

The contractions started early in the show, and with three songs left until the end of the performance, Joice was assisted and soon went into labor at the Couto Pereira stadium at 11:15 PM, to the sound of "Enter Sandman." "He was born right there at the show, right? If he becomes a pagode singer or something else, I'll be very disappointed," she said.

In an interview with Fantástico , the child's father also spoke about the experience. "The boy was born at the end of the show, during the last song, the most famous one, the one my father liked the most. There couldn't have been a better script for the story. I cried a lot from emotion. The song itself has a special meaning because it was the one my father liked the most," said Jaime.
