The influential band Misery Signals is back! The group has announced their fourth album, Ultraviolet , for release on August 7th.
The album will be the band's first release in seven years and the first with vocalist and founder Jesse Zaraska since their debut, Of Malice And The Magnum Heart , in 2004. To celebrate the announcement, the group released the first single, "The Tempest," which even got a music video.
Karl Schubach joined the band in 2004 to replace Jesse and stayed with them until 2014, when Zaraska returned. Since then, the group has been doing some shows and preparing, as a surprise, this new album.
Speaking about the track, guitarist Ryan Morgan revealed that it was the band's first composition after Jesse's return. "I tried to create a positive and hopeful Misery Signals album, more so than the others (...) Despite there being a lot of darkness and tension out there, there's also a bright light," he said.
In addition to the new release, the group also plans a North American tour for the end of the year. Watch the music video for "The Tempest" below, followed by the cover art and tracklist for the album Ultraviolet.
