Last Friday, the 9th, Ministry released the single “Good Trouble” and announced their new album, Moral Hygiene , which will be released on October 1st and was written during the turbulent period of the COVID-19 pandemic and the US presidential elections.

In July, lead singer Al Jourgensen launched a campaign to encourage people to register and vote in the 2020 elections. Openly anti- Trump , the band released the album AmeriKKKant in 2018 in response to the results of the 2016 elections.

The new Moral Hygiene apparently follows the same political line as its predecessor, as can be seen in the previously released song, “ Alert Level ”. “What I’ve seen in relation to how we’ve dealt with various public crises – from the pandemic to racial injustice and who we vote for to lead our country – is that times are changing and society needed a change to get rid of this pervasive idea that we should take care of ourselves and f*ck the rest,” said Jourgensen. “Now more than ever, we need moral hygiene and that’s what resonated with me while I was writing this album. It’s not a pious term. It’s the place we need to return to in order to function as a human species on this planet.”

The new track “Good Trouble” was inspired by the words of the late House member John Lewis and the Black Lives Matter . Listen now:
