Despite her origins in pop and country, Cyrus has been a prominent figure in rock since the release of her album Plastic Hearts . In addition to singing with Metallica , the artist has garnered praise from Elton John , who has said he considers her "the best female rock vocalist in the world .
During her Super Bowl show setlist, Miley proved once again that she's ready to fully embrace the world of rock by performing covers of Janis Joplin , Pixies, and Prince . She also sang classics by Blondie , Madonna , and Dolly Parton .
