Mikkey Dee revealed to Sonic Perspectives on March 1st that Lemmy Kilmister had no idea he was dying. Due to prostate cancer, along with cardiac arrhythmia and congestive heart failure, the former Motörhead passed away at the age of 70 in December 2015 .
“No, I don’t think he had those thoughts – I know he didn’t have those thoughts. But he struggled a lot with his health, which was a real pain for Lemmy, because he wanted to live his life normally. Lemmy had good days and bad days. 2015 was a very difficult year for him, as it was for all of us, obviously. But he had no idea that he would die at the end of that year” (transcription via Louder Sound ).
Previously, the current Scorpions member recalled his last conversation with Kilmister . At the time, he said the musician wanted to continue with the tour, even though he wasn't feeling well.
Last Tuesday, the 7th, Mikkey Dee commented again on the legacy of his Motörhead colleague on Metal Sucks : “All I can say is that Lemmy was a tremendous man. Lemmy was the smartest guy I ever met. He was well-educated in many different areas. If our politicians were like Lemmy, there would be no wars; there would be nothing. There would only be peace. If you knew him or heard him speak, everything made sense with his ideas and ideology. He was truly a fantastic man. He was a very fair, correct, straightforward man, without bullshit. He was fantastic.”
