Through social media, Mikkey Dee of the Scorpions announced that he was hospitalized for three weeks after contracting sepsis, a serious blood infection.

"During this holiday period, I was hospitalized with a very serious blood infection (sepsis). I was hospitalized for three weeks, but now I'm home fighting this nasty bacteria."

The drummer revealed that he had to undergo several surgical procedures to fight the bacteria in his body, but that he is now recovering at home.

“After several operations, I’m now back home and the numbers are going in the right direction. I still have a lot of recovery and rehabilitation work ahead of me.”

In addition to keeping fans informed of what happened, Mikkey Dee expressed gratitude to the medical team responsible for caring for him during his hospital stay.

"Fortunately, I received fantastic care at Sahlgrenska University Hospital in Gothenburg, my hometown. Therefore, I am immensely grateful to all the doctors and nurses who have given me the most excellent care."

Regarding the rehabilitation process and return to the stage, Mikkey revealed that he will do everything possible to be fit by the end of February.

“I’m now working 100% to get back on drums for the residency that starts in Las Vegas on February 27th. We have a tremendous 2025 ahead of us, celebrating 60 years of Scorpions and many exciting shows around the world.”
