The musician has already released an EP of unreleased tracks

Mike Shinoda, founder of Linkin Park, revealed that he is working on a solo album.

After releasing an EP with unreleased songs, rumors that Shinoda was preparing for a solo career flooded the internet. Now, confirmation has come from Shinoda himself on his Instagram when he invited his fans to participate in "something for my solo album."

The following day, the fansite Linkin Park Live posted a photo on Twitter of Shinoda with some fans and the following caption: “Here’s everything that happened last night in Hollywood where Mike Shinoda revealed he’s releasing a solo album and invited fans to be part of his new music video.”

With the death of frontman Chester Bennington, the future of Linkin Park is uncertain, but Shinoda confirmed that the band intends to continue their work, although "it will take a long time."
